I'm sending this to most of my friends, i would suggest that you do too.
It has recently come to my attention that Sen. Richard Shelby has put
forward an act called The Constitution Restoration Act
thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z
It is really freaky and The CRA already has 28 sponsors in the House and
Senate. Sen. Richard Shelby's office beleives that "we have the votes for
passage."
OKAY here's what it does:
"Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Supreme Court
shall not have jurisdiction to review, by appeal, writ of certiorari, or
otherwise, any matter to the extent that relief is sought against an
entity of Federal, State, or local government, or against an officer or
agent of Federal, State, or local government (whether or not acting in
official or personal capacity), concerning that entity's, officer's, or
agent's acknowledgment of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or
government."
This means that, when a legal issue has to do with questioning christian
religious perspective, then the court and political system has no right to
intervine.
It means that, if a judge or politician tries to intervine (by say, not
letting the 10 commandments appear in a classroom or deaming policy
unconstitution because it supports the christian agenda,) that are
committing an illegal act and will be subject to impeachment.
It also means that international law does not apply and it would be
illegal for an elected official or a judge to invoke the Geneva
Convention, the Covenant on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination
against Women, or any other international treaty, that elected official
would be jubject to impeachment.
IF THIS PASSES, in other words, WE WILL FIND OURSELVES FULLY IN THE MIDDLE
OF A CHRISTIAN THEOCRACY. where christians are above the law and where
neocons can cloud themselves in the rational of "god speaks to me" or "i
am doing gods work"
this is scary and must be stopped if we are to maintain and restory ANY
scrap of our democracy.
PLEASE PASS THIS ON. There has been no debate about this and it must be
known what is about to happen.
